Hey, going through puberty is a tough time. Pimples are what most teens face in their adolescence. Do you want to know how to clear pimples without scarring? This article is just for you.
Acne occurs when the pores of your skin become blocked with oil, dead skin, or bacteria. Each pore of your skin opens to a follicle. The follicle is made up of hair and a sebaceous (oil) gland. The oil gland releases sebum (oil), which travels up the hair, out of the pore, and onto your skin. When sebum and dead skin cells clump together, they form a plug in the follicle. Bacteria in the plug causes inflammation, leading to red pimples in acne.
Now, a lot of us use the words "Acne" and "Pimples" interchangeably and are oblivious of the difference.
The difference between acne and pimples is that acne is a disease and pimples are one of its symptoms. Just like a symptom of malaria is fever—and malaria could have other symptoms including Nausea. That's essentially the relationship between Acne and pimples.
There are six types of acne, including:
1.Blackheads: plugged pores on the skin’s surface, open.
2.Whiteheads: plugged pores, under the skin’s surface, closed.
3.Papulessmall, tender red or pink bumps.
4.Pustules: papules with pus on top.
5.Nodules: large, painful lumps deep under the skin’s surface.
6.Cysts: painful, pus-filled lumps under the skin’s surface.
