HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CHILDREN BORN FROM PARENTS WHO ARE BOTH IDENTICAL TWINS.
This write up is inspired by the true life story of the salyers twins (identical) who surprisingly got married to another pair of identical twins–Briana and Brittany.
The twins after marriage, would then go in to live under the same roof and give birth to babies who doctors described as having– similar genetic make-up.
Although the babies are from two different fathers and two different mothers, they are only respectively cousins.
Genetically speaking, Briana and Brittany’s children, current or future - as long as they remain with their spouses - will always be full biological siblings to each other even though they would have different parents.
This is so because in the case of identical twins, one sperm fertilizes one ova/egg and then the fertilized ovum splits and two individuals are born–yet they are genetically alike in every way.
This also means that if such persons that are genetically alike gets married to another set of people that are genetically alike and reproduce, the resulting offspring–strictly speaking–have same genetic compositions and are hence siblings rather than cousins.
